Dua n°178

The dua in Arabic:

بِسْمِ اللهِ (في أَوَّلِهِ وَآخِرِهِ)

The invocation in english:

« In the name of Allah (in its beginning and end).^[The words in the brackand are to be said if one forgets to recite the du'a before eating and remembers while eating.] »

The dhikr in phonetics:

Bismillâhi. (Bismillâhi fî awwalihi wa âkhirihi).

Dua n°179

The dua in Arabic:

(١) اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِيْهِ، وَأَطْعِمْنَا خَيْراً مِنْهُ
(٢) اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِيْهِ، وَزِدْنَا مِنْهُ

The invocation in english:

(1) « O Allah, bless it for us and feed us better than it. »
If one is given milk, recite the following instead:
(2) « O Allah, bless it fo it for usand give us more of it. »

The dhikr in phonetics:

Allâhoumma bârik lanâ fîhi, wa at'imnâ khayran minhou.
Allâhoumma bârik lanâ fîhi wa zidnâ minhou.

Source : Abu Dawud (#3767) and an-Nasai in 'Amal al-Yawm wa al-Laylah (#282). Al-Albani declared it faible, voir al-Kalim at-Tayyib (#184).
